Dallas Mavericks forward Harrison Barnes poked fun at Dirk Nowitzki over the Slam Dunk Competition. Barnes, a Slam Dunk participant in 2014, said the only way Nowitzki could win the high-flying event is on NBA 2K.
The 40-year-old veteran Nowitzki has recently made fun of his own mobility and aging game. On Twitter, Nowitzki tweeted, “Just had offseason drug testing. Told the guy: Did you see me move last year? If I was on something, I need to change the product ASAP.”
However, entering his 20th season with the Mavericks, Nowitzki is still a huge part of Dallas’ gameplan despite this being the first season coming off the bench. But Barnes said that Nowitzki’s impact will stay the same.
“Whether he (Nowitzki) starts or comes off the bench, he has great chemistry with most of the point guards,” Barnes said. “I think he’ll be effective wherever he is.”
