Devin White on LSU’s Defense: “We Can Shut Anyone Down”
LSU linebacker Devin White speaks on beating No. 2 team in the nation and showing their true potential.
After defeating the Georgia Bulldogs 36-16, Devin White said it displayed for everyone how good this LSU unit can really be. White added that there will still be doubters, but they cannot refute what happened at Tiger Stadium that day.
The linebacker said that the Bulldogs could not handle the Tigers’ offense or defense. The stats back up the star players’ statement. Georgia came into the season averaging 42.8 points a game and they were held to zero at half time and 16 points at the end of the game.
On the offensive side of the ball, Georgia came into the game not allowing any single rusher rush for more than a 100 yards in a game. That ended when the Bulldogs came to Death Valley. Not only did sophomore running back Clyde Edwards-Helaire rack up 145 yards on the ground, but the team put up 275 yards on the ground.
Many people had the Bulldogs winning after LSU’s poor performance against the Florida Gators. Against the Gators, the Tigers allowed more than 200 yards on the ground and White said that was not their true colors.
“Last week that wasn’t us,” he said. “That wasn’t LSU defense. Two hundred rushing yards, c’mon, that doesn’t happen around here.
