Senior running back Dameon Pierce spoke to the media following his final home game as a Florida Gator. He talked about the game itself, how their season went, and what the program has to look forward to.

Pierce got to play his final home game against in state rival Florida State. He and the Gators did not squander that opportunity. They secured a 24-21 victory. This winning effort was in part thanks to tough running from Pierce. He had a play where ho lost his helmet and continued carrying the ball forward with aspirations of getting in the end zone. He credited basic instincts for this action. The game was a bitter sweet experience and he was ecstatic about winning his final home game. It meant a lot for he and his fellow seniors on the team.

All in all, Pierce was happy with his four years spent in Gainesville. This season had its ups and downs for the team. Ultimately the program decided to move on from head coach Dan Mullen. Pierce believes the next coaching staff should look to build on the foundation the Gators have already built. As for the quarterback competition, he thinks the two should be evaluated for their performances in the spring and early fall. He believes there are a lot of guys in that locker room that love football and will give it their all.

Meanwhile, they still have a chance to go and win a bowl game. Pierce wants to take the momentum from this win and put it towards that bowl game. Overall, Pierce is happy about how his Florida career came to an end.
