Errol Spence wanted to remind Mikey Garcia that he wasn’t up against any of his past opponents.

Errol Spence and Mikey Garcia got into a heated exchange while speaking about their fight. Garcia believed that like his other opponents, Spence would find out what he’s made of inside the ring.

“He’s (Spence) gonna find out why I chose this fight, and why I picked him,” said Garcia. “Like all my other opponents, you know, They don’t see anything flashy, they don’t see anything special. But when they get inside the ring, then they realize that I am special in a different way.”

At that point, Spence felt that he had heard enough and lost it with Garcia. He also urged Garcia to maintain the same attitude he’s had regarding the fight. Throughout the buildup of the fight, Garcia has stated that he believes his fundamentals are better than Spence’s.

“I’m not your opponents, stop talking about your other opponents like I’m one of them.” said Spence.

After Garcia told Spence that he will be just another opponent, Spence replied, “We’ll see, keep that same energy.”
