Fanatics View got a chance to speak with Cleveland Indians Ace, Trevor Bauer.

Bauer discussed his new podcast and his vision for expanding baseball culture.

“We’re trying to get as many big league guys as possible on there to just talk. Going to dinner is a big part of baseball culture – the conversations that go on there are so funny and fans don’t get a chance to be a part of that. It gives guys a chance to show off their personality because baseball in general isn’t very good at that.

Bauer went on to compare the MLB’s culture to the “Fashion Show” of the NBA.

“Every game that’s on TV, it’s like a fashion show walking into the arena”, he told Fanatics View. “Every player, they have their own suits, their bags, their shoes – they get to show off this little part of them. In baseball, you see the guys on the field in uniform, and you’re told to show no emotion. That’s the whole goal of the podcast – to promote the game of baseball and let the players show off their personality”, he finished.

Finishing the interview, Bauer told Fanatics View some of his baseball idols growing up.

“I grew up in LA – and I actually got a scar because of Brett Butler. He robbed a home-run, and I was pretending I was him and slipped and my nose split open. I got into pitching staff, so It was Barry Zito, Tim Hudson and Mark Mulder in Oakland. Then it was John Smoltz, Tom Glavine and Greg Maddux in Atlanta.”

“Growing up and idolizing these guys, they seem larger than life, then you’re on the same playing field as them. I remember yelling at Barry for autographs, and now I’m out there and hear the same thing – it’s just so cool”, he finished.
