Fred VanVleet speaks on Luka Doncic, signing with And1 and Chicago being the “Mecca” of basketball
Fred VanVleet on Luka Doncic: “He’s a threat at every level”
Toronto Raptors guard Fred VanVleet spoke to reporters after the team’s 110-102 loss to the Dallas Mavericks. VanVleet chimed in on a few topics and started things off by sharing his thoughts on Mavs guard Luka Doncic.
“He can do it all. He’s a threat at every level. Rim, mid-range, and three. And also, you know, kicking out to his teammates. He commands a lot of attention.”
VanVleet most recently signed a shoe deal with And1 and has reportedly been labeled as the new face of the brand. VanVleet is averaging 17 points and 7.6 assists per game this season starting in place of Kyle Lowry, who is recovering from a thumb fracture.
“I’ve been a sneaker free agent for a few years now,” says VanVleet. “The opportunity presented itself to partner with And1 and it’s something I’m really excited about. Looking forward to, you know, the history of what they meant to the culture of basketball. Just looking forward to what the future holds and just kind of revamping the brand and re-establishing them in the sneaker community.”
