Alex Caruso Reacts to Playing Forward, Guarding Paul George & Returning to LA for Lakers Game
Alex Caruso spoke to the media after his Chicago Bulls secured a 10 point road victory over the LA Clippers. He talked about his team bouncing back, the challenges of guarding a player like Paul George, and his first time facing the Lakers.
The Chicago Bulls are in the midst of a five-game road trip. They dropped the first game of the set to the Warriors in a lackluster fashion. First-year Bull Alex Caruso knows the importance of bouncing back. He liked the adjustments and sacrifices players made in the Clipper win. The Bulls did a fine job of picking up the slack in the absence of big man Nikola Vucevic.
Specifically, Caruso was tasked with defending Paul George. He knows that a player of that caliber is impossible to stop completely. Caruso stated that PG13 is in the MVP conversation for a reason. Alex credited his coaches for creating a great game plan against George. The young hooper is always up for a challenge and loves the competitive nature of the game.
Going forward, the Bulls have no time to rest as their west coast trip marches on. They face Caruso’s former team in the same arena as the Clippers. Caruso will try to treat it like any other game, but he knows it is not. He won a championship with the Lakers and still has strong bonds with their players and coaches. Caruso stated: “Obviously when the ball goes up, I’ll be pretty focused on the game.”
The new-look Bulls started the season strong. Caruso attributed the fast start to staying focused. They did not set specific expectations and tried to win the moment every night.
