Watch as Rangers closer Ian Kennedy reacts to big win over Trout and the Angels.

Rangers starting pitcher Kohei Arihara tossed a gem, striking out Mike Trout 3 times in just over 5 innings.

“I don’t think I’ve seen that playing against him”, Kennedy said on containing Trout. “Just getting him out 3 times is good. He’s just an elite hitter like that. We pitched him well tonight. We know that he’s gonna come after us tomorrow, and we just have to be ready for it.”

Kennedy spoke on the talent of Japanese pitcher Kohei Arihara.

“He’s nice and smooth in his delivery. It’s fun to watch like I said. He’s in there moving the ball. It might cut one pitch, it might sink the next pitch. Then he’ll pop in there mid 90s fastball if he needs to”, he finished.

“I’ve heard nothing but good things”, Kennedy continued. “Just talent-wise, he’s a great person, just being in the clubhouse and spring training. Always up-beat, but then when you watch him pitch, he’s very professional.”
