Kawhi Leonard on Doncic: “He’s a great player. He’s basically pushing his team”

Los Angeles Clippers star Kawhi Leonard made it clear and simple: The goal was to put pressure on Luka Doncic.

“We wanted to do the best job we could on Luka. He’s been killing it lately”, began Leonard. “He’s playing at a very, very high level. We just wanted to make it difficult for him tonight. Get some deflections and I think we were able to do that.”

Doncic led the Mavs with 22 points but was 0 for 8 from the 3-PT range with seven turnovers and shot 4-14 from the floor.

Leonard also chimed in on Paul George and developing their chemistry as teammates.

“It’s been great. You know, he’s not a selfish player. He loves to play defense as well. You know, we didn’t get the chance to go through training camp together. We were both on the sidelines and it’s been fun to be able to play these last four with him.”
