Watch as Kyle Hendricks responds to Jake Arrieta being officially released by Cubs.

After an ugly start against the Brewers, Arrieta’s second tour with the Cubs has come to an end with Chicago’s decision to release him.

Hendricks gave his thoughts on the decision and reflected on Arrieta’s career, which included the historical World Series run just a few years ago.

“Really really tough one, for me personally too. Jake was a guy the moment I got called up, he kind took me under his wing a bit. Showed me the ropes, just taught me about the big leagues.”

“I owe him a ton,” Hendricks said on Arrieta’s impact on Chicago & and his dominant seasons on the mound.

“Everything he did for this organization, his time here. That run he went on man, it was the most fun to go out there and watch him pitch. You knew you were getting 8 to 9 innings of 0,1 run baseball, it was unbelievable to watch.”
