Oakland A’s beat down LA Angles 21-3 at Coliseum
The Oakland A’s and Angles forget how to play baseball, A’s win by two touchdowns and a field goal.
The Oakland A’s has been one of baseballs best stories all season. Channeling their inner Moneyball past, the A’s are on their way to a playoff birth with a bunch of rejects. Baseball is a funny game, where the worst team can beat the best team two out of three in May. If that happens, no one really cares. If that were to happen in any other sport than the media coverage would blow it out of proportions. In the A’s case, it seems that the “worst” team is going to win 98 games this year. The A’s have a history of having the least amount of money to throw at players every year. In professional sports in American money equals wins, in most cases.
The A’s and sometimes the Rays are the teams to break this mold the most in sports. While the Rays have a case for a post-season birth, they are a far cry from the 2018 A’s. The A’s are taking on the Angles in the Coliseum in which the A’s share with the Oakland Raiders. Both teams have played and had overlapping seasons here for almost 50 years. If you ever watch NFL highlights and there is a giant dirt pile in the middle of the field, it is probably in Oakland. You either hate it or love it when a football player slips on the infield dirt when he is trying to make a break for the end-zone.
The reason the Raiders are brought up in this baseball article is because of the final score of the A’s Angles game. For 50 years, baseball and football have been played in Oakland and never before has a final score being 21-3. How crazy is that? The irony of this is that it came from the A’s and not the Raiders and the Raiders on leaving after this season possibly. While 21-3 is not a common score in football, it’s safe to say I would not put my money on the baseball team putting up 21.
