Doc Rivers Reacts to Trae Young Being an NBA All-Star: “I Can’t Imagine 12 Guys in the East Better”
Doc Rivers on Young’s talent: “I can’t imagine 12 guys in the east are better”
Los Angeles Clippers head coach Doc Rivers did not waste any time when giving his opinion about Atlanta Hawks guard Trae Young’s All-Star status.
“Who’s debating this,” Rivers asked a reporter. The reporter responded “a lot of national reporters.”
“Listen, every time I watch him, he has 45 points,” began Rivers. “I mean, I don’t know the east. And I don’t know who else is better. I just don’t know if you could come up with 12 guys that are better. That’s for sure. I can’t imagine him not being on the All-Star team.”
“I can’t imagine 12 guys are better than what Trae Young is doing,” Rivers continued. “You know, he’s probably not going to get some votes because of his record. And I actually believe in that sometimes. But then I think sometimes, a guy’s performance overtakes the record. And I think in his case, that’s probably true.”
