Kawhi Leonard on Luka Donic: “It’s Hard To Turn Off The Water, Once a Great Player Gets Rolling”
Kawhi Leonard spoke to media following Clippers loss to Dallas Mavericks.
Leonard spoke on Luka Doncic’s performance agains the Clippers in loss.
“Tonight I thought we played hard. At times I think we let him get to his left step back too much and he got comfortable and got hot. He made shots and it’s hard to turn off the water when a great player gets rolling like that”, he finished.
Leonard also touched on the Clippers offensive struggles during the game.
“They’re doing a great job just playing hard. I felt like we got some shots tonight that usually go in. We were 9 for 32 tonight at the 3-point line. I think we got some good looks, but they just didn’t fall. You gotta give Dallas credit. We missed shots against that team, and they played hard.”
In addition, Leonard spoke on the defensive effort by the Clippers.
“I was pleased with our effort. Like I said we fought hard, played hard. Just be a little smarter. Obviously with Luka, like I said he got to that left side and shot some step back 3’s and he usually makes those and he did tonight. Other than that, I felt like we played hard, obviously want to get that field goal percentage under that 50 mark, but I’m pleased that we played hard and competed. We just gotta be consistent like I’ve been saying with that effort, and turn around for us hopefully.”
