Kevin Durant talks Alex Smith, Washington Redskins, New York Giants & NFC East
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant is a native of Suitland, Maryland and he grew up about 23 minutes away from where Fedex Field is located.
Fanatics View recently had the opportunity to speak with the two-time Finals MVP about his beloved Redskins after shoot-around, as the Warriors were in town to take on the Dallas Mavericks.
“You know what you are going to get from Alex Smith, steady quarterback. He is going to make the right decisions not take many risks, but he is efficient and that is something that we need. We had a lot of young quarterbacks that were throwing and taking risks and just figuring the game out. I think Alex Smith knows the way he want to play and I think we have a little bit more veteran presence. We have a lot guys that are injured, but we are still winning ball games. AP is doing phenomenal the legend that he is,”
A day after this interview, Washington lost their starting quarterback Alex Smith for the season, Alex suffered two broken bones in his lower right leg, an injury similar to Washington’s Joe Theismann 33 years earlier. Theismann’s career would sadly come to end after a brutal hit from the Giants’ Lawerence Taylor.
