Nick Nurse on Raptors vs. Luka Doncic, Delon Wright, Kristaps Porzingis & Raptors Road Trip
Nick Nurse on Luka Doncic: “I thought he was treated very well tonight”
Luka Doncic scored 15 of his 26 points against the Raptors from the charity strike.
“It’s tough,” says Nurse. “I thought he was treated very well tonight.”
The Raptors fell to the Mavericks 110-102 to finish a five-game road trip at 3-2, and are now sitting at 8-4 on the season.
“I think considering you’re going to play the Lakers and Clippers on a back to back, that’s tough for everybody. I think you go on this road trip completely healthy and you get out of it 3-2, you’re probably pretty happy. We got to be pretty satisfied. You know, the plus side of it, we grow a little bit. We get to look at some guys and know how we can use them here coming in the future once some of our guys do start filtering back in.”
When asked about Kristaps Porzingis’ effect in the game, Nurse replied: “He was good. He was energetic. I thought he impacted the game. He crashed the boards. Made some big shots. Kind of kept them ticking over there when Doncic was out. Yeah, he had a good game. He looked bouncy tonight.”
Mavericks backup point guard Delon Wright scored 15 points off the bench to go with four rebounds and three steals.
“That’s what he does,” said Nurse. “He gets in the passing lanes. He got to the rim. He was good.”
