Rick Carlisle speaks ahead of team’s matchup against the Suns; talks Doncic impact

Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle spoke with reporters ahead of the team’s contest against the Phoenix Suns.

“Well, they move it well. They turn the opponent over at a high rate,” says Carlisle of the Suns. “They take care of the ball, so they do well in the possession game. Their rebounding is solid. They’ve got a premier scorer with Booker. They’ve got a premiere play-maker with Rubio. And they’ve got a lot of shooting around those guys. You look at their three-point shooting from top to bottom, it’s very good. You know, they go hard. So, it’s a game where you got to come out ready to go.”

Carlisle also spoke on Luka Doncic and how he has handled the Clippers’ loss after initially being hard on himself.

“Well, you know, he’s been through a lot of big games in his career. He’s a very mature guy even though he’s only 20 years old. He understands I think, one of the things about those kinds of nights from a team and an individual standpoint is that you can agonize over it for a little while, then you gotta turn the page and move forward. There are a lot of games coming. He knows that.”
