Manny Robles says that an agreement hasn’t been reached for a rematch between Andy Ruiz and Anthony Joshua.

Manny Robles tells a different story than the reports going around on a rematch between Andy Ruiz and Anthony Joshua. Match Room Boxing promoter Eddie Hearn announced recently that the rematch would take place on Dec. 7th in Saudi Arabia.

Robles, who trains Ruiz however; tells Fanatics View that’s only one side of the story.

“You’ve only heard one side so far, and we have yet to hear from Andy,” said Robles. “I gotta sit down with my team, and see what’s going on really. But as of right now? They can say we’re fighting in December. They can say we’re fighting next week. But nothing’s been confirmed.”

After Ruiz dethroned Joshua in June to become the new unified heavyweight champion, the main targets of where the rematch would take place were either in the U.K.; or New York. The U.K. would give Joshua, of Watford, the home field advantage.

New York is where Joshua suffered his first loss, along with his titles. Therefore, he wanted to set it right where it had all gone wrong. Ruiz, on the other hand; was reluctant of the rematch taking place in the U.K.

Although the rematch clause reportedly left Joshua’s team in charge of the location and date, it came as a surprise when Hearn announced Saudi Arabia as the host.

“I’m quite sure it’ll be resolved,” said Robles. “It’s just a question of both parties being able to sit down and reach an agreement on the fight. As they have announced that the fight’s in Saudi Arabia, great; no problem. But there’s other terms that need to be met.”
