Ryan Bader ‘would love’ a cross-promotion fight with Daniel Cormier
Ryan Bader welcomes the possibility of a fight with Daniel Cormier.
Current Bellator two-division champion Ryan Bader would still like to get in the octagon with former UFC two-division champion Daniel Cormier some day. The two have some history, dating back to their time in the UFC’s light heavyweight division. Things got real heated as Bader was in attendance for Cormier’s UFC 192 Press Conference in 2015.
A confrontation followed after Cormier said he “just wants an easy paycheck (referring to Bader).”
“I want the easiest fight in the division, I want Ryan Bader.” said Cormier.
Bader (27-5) recalls the fight was supposed to happen at some point, as he spoke with Fanatics View.
“That’s one that I wish I would have gotten,” Bader told Fanatics View. “We were scheduled to fight at some point, you know. So definitely wish we could do some cross-promotion, stuff like that. But I can only control what I can control, right? And so it’s one of those things where I’m happy, super happy where I’m at. I’m fighting top of the competition. If that never happens, there’s no regrets.”
Cormier (22-2) will take on Stipe Miocic (19-3) in a rubber match for the UFC heavyweight title at UFC 252 on August 15. A victory for “DC” can ignite the talks of a possible showdown with “Darth.”
