LSU’s Devin White Speaks on Dominat Win Against Ole Miss
LSU linebacker Devin White talks about win and is focused on Florida.
The LSU Tigers defeated the Ole Miss Rebels in dominat fashion at home, 45-16, and Devin White credited it to team’s ability to gel well together and how hard they have each other’s back.
“Yeah, we got team chemistry,” White said. “We all brothers; we love each other and we fight for each other every weekend.”
Playing their second SEC opponent of the season at home, the Tigers needed to make a statement as they had some struggles against the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. Against the Rebels, putting up 28 points and holding the Rebels to six points at half was the proof that the Playoff Committee needed to see.
The play of LSU put them in the top five for the first time this season. Looking at the upcoming opponents for the Tigers, they will have to face No.1 Alabama and No. 2 Georgia at Tiger Stadium, but the star LSU linebacker is not focused on them. He is focusing on playing their upcoming opponent: the Florida Gators.
“We focus on one game at a time,” he said. “Right now we are currently 5-0 and we play Florida next week. That is the only person we worried about. We going down there and handle our business. Then we will keep moving forward, but until then it is all about Florida.”
With the Tigers traveling to the Swamp, they are going need to fix one problem that has been present all season long: third quarter play. The Tigers scored their first touchdown in the third quarter all season against Ole Miss. This where Tigers as a collective unit seem to come out flat and what some of their opponents have take advantage of.
White says he does not why it has been happening, but is glad about the outcome of the game.
