Chase Elliott Claims His Second Win of 2026 at Wurth 400 in Fort Worth
Chase Elliott continues the best start of his career with his second win in 11 races.
NASCAR driver Chase Elliott won his second race of the 2026 season at the Wurth 400 at Texas Motor Speedway this weekend, becoming the second driver with multiple wins through the first 11 races.
It’s the first time he’s achieved that in his career, and Elliott is relishing his great start and the tangible progress his team has made.
“To now have two this early in the year, I’m really proud of that, and I’m proud of our team for that because any time you can check off new boxes in this sport when you’ve been doing it for 10-plus years is cool, and it’s hard to do,” Elliott said after the victory. “It’s hard to win, so I’m really proud of our team for that and just proud of the day we had.”
One of the contributing factors to Elliott’s run has been his ability to take control of the race. He did so during his Cook Out 400 win at Martinsville Speedway earlier this year, and he did it again as he faced a tumultuous restart early Sunday.
“I thought we did as good a job of that today as we have in quite some time,” Elliot added, “and at a race track that has historically been really tough for me.”
Elliott has driven Texas Motor Speedway 18 times since 2016, often finishing well behind the winner. Yet, Sunday’s win gives him two first-place finishes in his last three trips to Fort Worth.
“I would say it’s one of our strongest races that we’ve had in quite some time when you look at just all of the different factors of the event, from restarts to pit road to race strategy to me behind the wheel,” he added. “All of it was really elevated and was performing at a high level, and super proud of our team for that.”
Now the No. 3-ranked driver in the NASCAR Cup Series, Elliott will look to continue his momentum into Go Bowling at The Glen at Watkins Glen International Speedway on May 10.
