Adrian Sampson on Trusting Chris Woodward’s Call After Getting Pulled Before First MLB Win
Adrian Sampson spoke with Fanatics View following his short outing against the Houston Astros.
Sampson pitched a solid 4 1/3 innings for the Rangers, but left in the 5th after a visit from the club’s manager, Chris Woodward.
“It’s whatever the manager wants to do at that point”, Sampson told Fanatics View on Woodward taking him out of the game, It’s my day to start, obviously you want to go as long as you can”, he added.
“It’s out of my control”, Sampson explained. “I’m always gonna back up Woodward, whatever he decides to do”.
The Rangers’ victory over the Houston would have been the starter’s first MLB win, but he was ineligible due to his short start.
“We won the game – that’s all you can look for”, Sampson finished.
