Watch as Rangers legend Michael Young speaks to Fanatics View on Derek Jeter.

At a Rangers press conference, Fanatics View asked Young what he thought of Derek Jeter’s comment of him. The Yankees legend gave Young the honor of being his “Favorite player to watch”.

“He and I became friends a long time ago”, he said. “We played in a few all-star games together, and played for team USA together – that’s when him and I got a little closer. He’s a very busy man obviously, he’s got an important job right now.”

“Baseball is special in that sense – you don’t have to talk to someone everyday to know how special they are to you. I definitely appreciate those kind words, he’s obviously one of the best players of my generation. He’s probably gonna be the second guy to get a 100 percent of the vote in the Hall of Fame next year, deservedly so. To hear that not only from a friend, but a fellow competitor, it really means a lot”, he finished.
