Luka Doncic talks Michael Jordan’s ‘Last Dance’, “Being Out of Shape” Report & NBA Restart
Mavs prepare for restart in Orlando, Doncic talks Michael Jordan; “The Last Dance was something amazing”
It’s been 4 months since the NBA shut down the season due to the Coronavirus pandemic, and we are just weeks away from the official restart in Orlando, Florida at Disney World Resort.
The Mavericks will begin the restart against the Houston Rockets on July 31st, and star Luka Doncic is confident about the team’s chemistry. He is also very much looking forward to getting back on the court.
“We have pretty good chemistry. Obviously, we are doing individual right work now, but before the season, we had good chemistry. We just didn’t play much games together. It’s going to keep growing every day.”
When asked what the hardest part of the quarantine was, Doncic replied “not being able to play basketball.”
“I never hesitated (opting-out). I always wanted to play. I missed basketball a lot, and I just wanted to play. There was no question about me. I wanted to play.”
During the quarantine, basketball fans had the pleasure of getting to watch the highly anticipated documentary miniseries “The Last Dance”, which follows the 1997 Chicago Bulls on their quest for a sixth title.
“The Last Dance was something amazing,” says Doncic. Something all basketball players should see. It was a must-see show and I really, really enjoyed it.”
Jure Drakslar, who is Doncic’s trainer, recently said in an interview that the Slovenian start was not in “top game shape.” Doncic really didn’t pay any mind to it, and simply called it a misunderstanding.
“It was a misunderstanding. He said game shape. Like on 5 on 5. But you know, I saw it, and I just didn’t care much. I know what good shape I am in.”
