Phillies Fan Injured by Phanatic’s Hot Dog Cannon

Phanatic injures fan with hot dog cannon

Phanatic is no stranger to the spot light. He is known for his dance competitions with fans and umpires and steals 4 wheelers every now and then.  Today he has reached a new level. During the game on Wednesday, the Phanatic brought out the famous Hatfield Hot Dog cannon. The cannon predictable shoots hot dogs to hungry fans in the stands. What is surprising is that the hot dogs that are shot into the crowd are wrapped with duct tape. This creates a high velocity projectile, while being delicious, are also deadly.

When fans go to baseball games, they know the risks of foul balls or even bats flying into the stands. Today however, we may need to add one more hazard to the list. Hot dogs. You read that correctly, if you are reading this than you saw the pictures of the victim. Major damage was done to the fan and she was taken to the local hospital from the flying frank. She was tested for a concussion and was released shortly after being admitted.

The fan is okay and happily at home recovering from the injury but has a warning for all fans. Be aware, you never know when a hot dog will hit you between the eyes. She is a big Phillies fan and is not going to press charges or cause a fuse. Phanatic feels horrible about what happened at the ballpark and wishes her well.  The Phillies organization has reached out to her and offered free tickets to any game she wants.

This die hard Phillies fan was all smiles during her interview and a very good sport about the situation. This will not slow her down and plans to be at future games this season.  This goes to show what this great game of baseball can create for fans, even on a Wednesday afternoon in June.
