Taylor Hearn talks Texas Rangers Confidence Level & Strong 7 Strikeout Performance vs. Tampa Bay
Rangers pitcher Taylor Hearn spoke to media following solid outing in relief against Tampa Bay.
The 26 year old totaled 7 strikeouts in just 3 innings of relief in a 1-0 loss to the Rays. Hearn told media his continuing confidence leading off of the 2020 season.
“It just goes to a test that just the confidence I’ve grown over the this year. But mainly just piggybacking off of last year, where I picked up off. And just more just trying to continue being aggressive agasinst guys.”
Hearn discussed his mentality and approach coming out of the pen for the Rangers.
“I try to take every inning as a single inning shutout. I try not to look too too far ahead, I’ve never been a guy to look too too far ahead.”
“It’s there for sure”, Hearn said on Rangers overall confidence despite consecutive losses. “I know from a pitching side we’re not really panicking. We’re taking it day by day. I know that’s something I do, and I think that’s helped me out a lot.”
Finishing the interview, Hearn talked about getting more innings as he continues to improve in his relief role.
“I’m trying to go as long as I can”, he said. “Honestly I felt good, could’ve gone back out there for another one, but I understand the situation and everything.”
