Carmelo Anthony says Dallas Should Appreciate “What It Has” in Luka Doncic
Carmelo Anthony on the game: “Just happy. Appreciate the game a little bit more. Kind of just being at peace with myself”
Carmelo Anthony has emerged as a potential comeback player of the year candidate and is taking it one day at a time. After a more than a year-long hiatus, Anthony has returned as a major contributor for the Portland Trail Blazers.
“It feels good. Just happy. I appreciate the game a little bit more. Kind of just being at peace with myself. At peace with the situation in the game. I take it one moment at a time now.”
Anthony has averaged 16 points and six rebounds per game since his return, and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic called him a “walking bucket.”
“He’s a walking bucket!” Anthony responded about Doncic. “As far as Luka goes, he’ll be in this league for a long time. He’s a young player. And he’s going to get better and better. For years that come, we’re going to be watching a special player. So, I hope you guys out here in Dallas really appreciate what you have right now in front of you.”
Anthony finished by stating “I don’t have a chip on my shoulder.”
“Honestly I don’t. I’m at peace,” he continued. “That’s why I’m able to go out there and continue to play the way that I’m playing and do what I do and enjoy this game. I continue to enjoy this game because I’m at peace. Whatever is going to happen is going to happen. So, I just try to appreciate all of this time and everything that is going on.”
