Jimmy Butler speaks on Luka Doncic, Goran Dragic, Miami Heat, Eastern Conference Finals Goal & Jersey Retirement in Texas

Miami Heat superstar Jimmy Butler spoke with reporters after the team’s 122-118 victory over the Dallas Mavericks. Butler spoke on numerous topics but mainly emphasized how his Slovenian teammate, Goran Dragic, is just as good as Mavs sensation Luka Doncic.

When asked about Doncic, Butler playfully replied: “Don’t skip over my Slovenian guy for your Slovenian guy. I Iike ours better! I love Goran. I do. That’s my guy”.

“He’s tough and super fun to watch”, Butler began about Doncic. “He does everything so well. He gets everybody involved. He can shoot it. Get to the rim. Sneaky athletic too. And if I had to say that if I had to watch somebody play and me pay to watch, he goes in that category”.

In Butler’s first year with the Heat, the team is currently 19-7 and is on pace to win 50+ games. Butler spoke on the growth of the team and how tonight was a big win for them.

“I think we have a great group of guys when you can tell them something, and they don’t take it personal. They step up to the challenge. And it’s great because, a lot of the guys that we’re doing that to, they’re young guys. I think a couple of our young guys really grew up tonight knowing that you’re going to have to man up, you’re going to have to guard and then you’re going to have to go down there and make something happen on offense. We got guys that are capable of it that like that challenge. So I think tonight was a good one because we learned a lot about ourselves”.
