Lonzo Ball on Luke Walton Challenging Him, Playing Without LeBron James & Rajon Rondo
Lakers point guard Lonzo Ball speaks on playing without Lebron James or Rajon Rondo.
After a three game skid game without their leader, superstar Lebron James, and Rajon Rondo being out, the Lakers were able to find a win against the Dallas Mavericks.
The Laker were lead by point guard Lonzo Ball and small forward Brandon Ingram. Going scoreless in the previous game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, the oldest Ball brother poured in 21 points on 51 percent shooting in the win against the Mavericks. He credited the change in point totals to him increasing his aggressiveness on the offensive end.
“Just try to be more aggressive,” Ball said. “Shoot when I’m open; try to force the issue a little more.”
The former 2nd overall pick said that there is a heightened sense of awareness with James and Rondo out. He said the performance in the previous game against the Timberwolves is not a formula for winning games and he’s right. Losing by 21 isn’t going to get you anywhere, besides a high lottery pick.
The Ball brother said “it starts with us” to set the tone with two of Los Angeles more impactful players out. Ball knows that him and Ingram are the leaders of the team while James and Rondo are out. It is up to these two to make this trend last.
