Paul George says Luka Doncic is “Remarkable” for Dominant Performance at Age of 20
Paul George on Luka Doncic: “Doing it as his age is remarkable”
Los Angeles Clippers star Paul George spoke with reporters after the team’s 134-109 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans and shared his thoughts on young star Luka Doncic as they will face the Dallas Mavericks next.
“I think what’s impressive is his skillset at his age,” says George of Doncic. “He’s a scorer. He’s a playmaker. He’s a ballhandler. I mean, I think he’s close to averaging a triple-double. So he’s doing it at all aspects of the game. And doing it at his age is remarkable.”
“I think he’s constantly a threat all night”, added George. “He’ll be a threat, and he’s the head of the snake. We gotta take it to him. We gotta be aggressive on the defensive end. With our offensive players, we gotta attack more on the other end.”
On his health and conditioning, George says: “Tonight was the best I’ve felt since I’ve been back. I felt really good. I was able to get low. I was able to defend. There were still moments where I was a little tired, but tonight was the best by far I’ve felt.”
The Clippers will play nine of their next eleven games on the road, and George sees it as a good time for the team to grow.
“I think this is really the fun part of the season when you have stretches to be together.”
“When we’re on the road, we’re together. We’re bonding,” continued George. “There’s chemistry built. There are dinners to be had. That’s what’s really going to start to mold and build this team.”
