Alabama Star RB Harris Says Why He’s Returning
Alabama running back Damien Harris tells why he is staying for his senior year.
During a press conference, Damien Harris said he just could not leave in light of all time and energy spent with the exceptional football program, Alabama.
“I decided to come back because for three years I thought to be very fortunate and blessed to be part of this program,” said the senior running back. “Everything we went through last year and winning the national championship it all kind of put it in perspective for me and I just had to ask myself ‘am I ready to leave this place yet?'”
The Alabama Crimison Tide are the reigning College Football Playoffs National Champions with a win over Georgia this last season. Harris said he “wasn’t ready” to leave Alabama because what he experienced with the team.
Harris added that staying for his senior year, he knew he was going to have to step up into that leadership role and mentor some of the incoming freshman.
“I knew that coming back for my senior year that was something that would happen,” Harris said “so I just kind of had to step into that leadership role and be a guy people could look up to and point people in the right direction.”
