Kamaru Usman had a message for Jorge Masvidal following their recent altercation.

Kamaru Usman is not one to let trash talk get the best of him. It showed in his last outing at UFC 245 in December, against the highly outspoken Colby Covington. As Jorge Masvidal engaged him into another verbal war, it’s somewhere the UFC welterweight champion has already been before.

“He (Masvidal) thinks he’s next in line, so be careful what you ask for,” Usman told Fanatics View. “Colby did the exact same thing, he asked for this. He ran his mouth. He’s gonna do this, he’s gonna ’embarrass me.’ He’s gonna ‘shock me,’ he’s gonna ‘end my career.’ He’s gonna do all those things. And that didn’t go very well for him.”

Usman (16-1) is coming off a TKO victory over Covington in his first title defense. In an all-out battle, “The Nigerian Nightmare” put Covington down twice and out with less than one minute left in the final round. Usman left the fight with a left thumb injury, while “Chaos” left the fight with a broken jaw.

Masvidal (35-13) and Usman had a tense altercation recently at Super Bowl Media Row, where “Gamebred” vowed to “kill him.” Using his last opponent as an example, the native of Nigeria tells Fanatics View he hopes it serves as a warning to Masvidal; who is a former training partner of Covington.

“He’s a guy that Colby used to embarrass, Colby used to spank,” said Usman. “It is what it is. At the end of the day, part of being a champion is taking care of business. And when that fight does happen, I will go in there and take care of business.”
