LSU linebacker Devin White talks Auburn & Beating Southeastern Louisiana
LSU linebacker Devin White speaks on defense performance and SEC opponent Auburn.
After the annihilation of Southern Louisiana University, 31-0, LSU’s middle linebacker Devin White came in to praise what the defense accomplished that night and talked about their upcoming SEC opponent.
White had every right to be proud of the defenses’ performance because of the shutout. The last time that happened in Death Valley was in 2014. The junior linebacker said “I feel like we did a good job.”
The defense was the the one of the spots LSU fans can have confidence in. The Lions reached the red zone once near the end of the fourth quarter and it was only one time. The score lets you know that nothing positive came of the from the Lions entering the red zone.
There were some moments in the fourth quarter that lead the Lions into the red zone where White said “they were running some crazy stuff.” White said the opposing team were more productive then because “we let off the gas.” With Auburn coming up for them next week, that is something they cannot let happen.
White said Auburn Tigers are a team that they have faced before, so he is familiar with the offense and what they are going to throw their way. I expect the defense to play pretty well against No.7 Auburn, but it is the passing game of LSU that may have more trouble being productive, making them one dimensional from an offensive stand point.
LSU defense will have to play a near perfect game to for them to come out on top against the Auburn Tigers. Head coach Ed Orgeron said that preparing for Auburn will include fixing some of the passing mistakes made against SLU.
