Jaylon Smith Almost Makes One-Handed Interception
Dallas Cowboys linebacker Jaylon Smith nearly makes one-handed pick at practice.
The No. 34 pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, Jaylon Smith, is starting to look like the prospect everyone saw before the injury that made him fall in to the second round. In the footage, we can see Smith make his hips turn without worry.
With a pretty clean pocket, Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott throws deep down the middle. The former Notre Dame star makes a great play on the ball, reminding us he is not just a run stopper, but someone who can play against a pass-heavy offense.
If it was Odell Beckham Jr. or Jarvis Landry, then maybe that would have been caught, but watching Smith make plays like this shows the progression he has made since the injury.
Last year, I am not sure if the 23-year-old linebacker would have been able to make these types of movements so fluidly without the worry for his knee, including playing with a leg brace on.
Pro bowl linebacker Sean Lee get is not getting any younger, so seeing Smith improve each year is a bright spot for Cowboys fans on the defensive side of the ball.
