Sammy Watkins makes impossible haul with two men all over him
Early in the third quarter of a 41-39 shootout with the San Francisco 49ers, Los Angeles Rams quarterback Jared Goff threw an absolute bomb into traffic that receiver Sammy Watkins somehow came down with for 47-yards.
The former fourth overall pick in the 2014 draft was dealt from Buffalo this summer for cornerback E.J Gaines and a 2018 second-rounder in a surprising deal that saw the Bills hit the restart button on their franchise.
The trade marked a new start on a new coast for Watkins who looks to prove his worth this season as a centerpiece for a young Rams team.
Despite their inexperience, the Rams have shown good poise in what was expected to be a season full of growing pains for their young core.
They now improve to 2-1 on the season as they head down to Dallas to square off against the playoff contending Cowboys in what’s sure to be their greatest challenge of the budding regular season.
