Top 10 Plays from College Football Week 2
Week 2 of college football was full of some most talented plays in football we’ve seen in a while.
Opening up at the No. 10 spot is an impressive snag by Cal’s Jordan Duncan. Duncan was able to put his team into the red zone by reaching up for the ball and stretching his body out enough to barely get one foot in bounds. Cal ended up scoring after being set up in good field position from that play. Cal also ended up beating BYU 21-18.
Wake Forest’s Greg Dortch earned the No. 9 spot with a onehanded grab for a touchdown. This was Dortch’s only receiving touchdown, he also had a 60 yard and 70 yard punt return for touchdowns. Wake Forest beat Towson 51-20.
CeeDee Lamb had the No. 8 play of the week. The Oklahoma receiver caught a 35 yard pass from Kyler Murray while being hung on by the defender for the touchdown. Oklahoma beat UCLA 49-21 that game.
No. 7 was a 62 yard run from Oregon State’s Jermar Jefferson. Not only was this a 62 yard run, Jefferson ran through several defenders, juking one at the end to run in for the touchdown. No one had any chance of stopping him. Oregon State was able to beat Southern Utah 48-25.
Maryland’s Jahrvis Davenport earned the No. 6 spot with a spin move around a defender to score a touchdown. This play helped Maryland beat Bowling Green 45-14.
Greg Dortch had not one but two top 10 plays this weekend. This time at No. 5, it was a 60 yard punt return for a touchdown. Dortch jumped over, spun around and juked several defenders to make it to the end zone.
A Hail Mary at halftime by LSU earned the No. 4 spot. Joe Burrow threw a Hail Mary to the endzone which was caught Stephen Sullivan. A remarkable snag by Sullivan helped the Tigers go into halftime leading 24-0, then winning the game 31-0.
Clemson’s Tee Higgins earned the No. 3 spot with a remarkable catch and run for a touchdown. Higgins snagged the ball over the receiver, was able to stay up and spin around the next defender to then run it in for a touchdown. Clemson barely pulled off a win against Texas A&M, 28-26.
A game saving catch by Minnesota’s Antonie Winfield Jr. was the No. 2 play of the weekend. Winfield Jr. reached out and stole the ball away from Fresno State in the endzone to save the touchdown and secure the win.
Finally, the play of the week. The No. 1 play was an extraordinary catch by Ole Miss receiver Alex Weber. Weber reached up over the defender and caught the ball on the back of the defender. Holding on the to the ball while hugging the defender rightfully earned the No. 1 spot. Ole Miss held on and beat Southern Illinois 76-41.
