Rudy Gobert Reacts to Nikola Jokic Scoring 47 Points: “I Take Full Responsibility For That”
Utah Jazz’s Rudy Gobert spoke to media following loss to Denver Nuggets.
“It’s tough to win a game against a good team when you give up 80 points in the first have”, Gobert said. “I think there’s a lot of things that we can do better. At the same time we have to give them credit too. They shot 100% from 3. I think they missed one in the first half, most of them were contested too. It’s on us to make sure we come out and be more physical tomorrow. I think we did a great job in the second half. Defensively, we’re not having any trouble scoring. It’s just hard to win when they score 80 points in one half”, he finished.
In addition, Gobert reacted to Nikola Jokic’s dominant peformance for the Nuggets, scoring 47 points.
“He got it going early. When someone scores 30 in the first half, It’s tough to be in a position to win a game. I take full responsibility for that. The team relies on me and I gotta come out better in the first half”, he finished.
“It’s human. You can’t be on the top all the time”, Gobert said on the rough performance. “Sometimes were gonna have nights, quarters, where we’re not as good. We gotta make sure we know why, and next game we come out and do what we do. Tonight was one of those nights, where the first half we give up 80 points. As a top defensive team in the league, that shouldn’t happen. We’re gonna make sure that doesn’t happen again.”
