Popovich speaks on Luka Doncic, gives him a HoF praise

San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich spoke with reporters after the team’s 102-98 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.

“Our three best shooters were 0-13,” began Popovich. “Oftentimes in these NBA games, that’s the deal. We don’t have to look anywhere else. We made mistakes. They made mistakes. But we competed the whole night and I was really pleased with that. I actually feel pretty good. We have to make shots. We didn’t. And they had that little barrage where they made six in a row. And that was the game.”

Popovich went on to give Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic some very high praise.

“I’d hate to say this. He’s not Magic Johnson, but it’s Magic Johnson-like in a sense that he sees the floor that same way. He’s got a real intuitive sense. You can’t teach that. He’s just got it and he’s great at it. I’m not trying to put the Magic Johnson pressure on him. He’s not ready for that yet. But he’s doing a hell of a job.”
