James Vick Says Justin Gaethje Will Lose in the 2nd Round
UFC lightweight James “The Texecutioner” Vick says fighters are ducking and dodging him.
James Vick, who is 13-1 in professional fights, says the fighters that are ranked above him have been ducking him and are “running scared.”
“Definitely everyone ranked, you know, above me is ducking me,” Vick said. Vick admitted that not everyone in the UFC is dodging him, but those with something to lose are who he says are doing their best to evade him.
Now, Vick will face a top fighter in Justin Gaethje; it was not drawn up to happen like this, but Vick is aware of the opportunity at hand. Vick had to step in and fight Gaethje on short notice, but will finally get the shot at a main event he desired for so long.
“When you get the offer to fight in a main event, you have to take that,” Vick said. “I mean I have been begging for main event for a couple of years now.. so of course I am not going to turn down the fight.”
Vick says he is “going to smoke” Gaethje when he gets in the cage with him. He added that Gaethje will not make it past two rounds. The fight is set for August 25. Vick is aware of what this upcoming fight can do for his career and believes the win will come easy.
“This is either one of many main events or the one and only main event I get, so I have to go in there,” Vick said. “I have to perform and I have to win this fight. I have to finish this guy, which I know the finish is going to come because the way that he [Gaethje] fights.”
