Sidney Crosby Reacts to Radim Zohorna Scoring on His First NHL Shot & Passing NHL Milestones
Watch as Penguins’ center Sidney Crosby speaks to media following 4-0 win over Buffalo Sabres.
Crosby detailed the impact of the Penguins’ defense and it’s stability on goaltending.
“It’s huge. There’s tons of points in games, close games like this, where teams can get momentum. When you get huge saves it’s a huge boost. Whether it’s even strength or even on the kill, special teams, your goalie has to come up with some saves sometimes, and they’ve done a great job doing that. [They’ve] Held us in games, allowed us to get our chances and capitalize”, he finished.
Crosby also spoke on teammate Radim Zohorna’s special first career goal.
“You love seeing that. You know it’s his first game and you think back to those emotions and those feelings that you have in your own first game. And all the guys that’ve had memorable nights like that, so to see him score in his first game and see that emotion, that’s a huge boost. It gets us going, but it’s also just a great feeling on the bench when you see that.”
In addition, Crosby passed the 1300th point milestone in with his assist to teammate Jake Guentzel.
“It’s a nice number and I wasn’t thinking about it at the time. I think tonight was a big game and we were just focused on getting a win but glad to see [Jake] Guentzel put one in. He’s had a ton of chances. He’s been doing so many great things since the start of the year and love seeing him put the puck in the net. It was nice to see him get rewarded with that one, and nice to get the 1300th point there.”
