Yankees’ DJ LeMahieu spoke to media following spring training win against Philidelphia.

LeMahieu spoke on teammate Brett Gardner’s grand slam and ability moving forward to opening day.

“It was great to see today”, he said. “He hammered that ball, good to see, grand slam, happy for him. Getting ready for the season he looks really good.

In addition, DJ talked about second basemen Gleyber Torres’ performance during spring training.

“He looks good, he looks focused. He’s been locking in on early work defense. His swing looks good, and he seems really focused this year, ready to go. That’s kinda what I expected from him, and he’s definitely ready to go and looking good out there”, he finished.

DJ spoke also spoke on Gary Sanchez’s improvements from last season.

“I feel like last year he was still being a great teammate. He was crying, but he was always a great teammate, always positive. He’s the same guy, same guy this year, but he does seem very, again, focused in his early work. He’s out to prove he’s Gary Sanchez, and one of the best catchers in the league, and again I’m excited for him. I know it’s early, but he’s had some really good at-bats so far, and it’s great to see”, he finished.
