DeAndre Jordan seemed to be in a great mood at media day. Joking with reporters and keeping the room light, it’s clear Jordan is in a nice place mentally. After leaving the Clippers Jordan needed a fresh start in a situation where a team wants him.

DeAndre Jordan will give the Mavs an extra defensive boost that the team has been lacking for the past few seasons. The last dominant big man the Mavs had was Tyson Chandler during the 2011 championship season. Jordan said that he has a deep respect for Chandler and learned a great amount from the savvy veteran.

If Jordan can return to his dominant form the Mavericks can have a great chance to make the playoffs this upcoming season. Other than play on the court Jordan will have to be a great leader along side Dirk Nowitzki.
