Rick Carlisle on Luka Doncic bouncing back from the loss to the Clippers: “He’s a great player. Great players have short-memory for tough games”
Dallas Mavericks point guard Luka Doncic had the best game of his NBA career against the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.
Bouncing back from a tough loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, Doncic dropped 42 points and 11 assists to go with nine rebounds, just missing the triple-double.
“He was spectacular tonight from start to finish,” said Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle. “He’s an extremely tough, hard-nosed guy. Seemingly, he always bounces back up and keeps playing. He’s an amazing player.”
“I’ve learned over my many years not to take anything for granted,” continued Carlisle. “He’s just an exceptional player. Exceptional person. He’s exceptionally tough. You don’t find that combination in 20-year old guys coming into the NBA very often. He’s very special.”
