Rick Carlisle SOUNDS OFF on Knicks Firing Fizdale: “TERRIBLE MESS, HE HAD NOTHING TO DO WITH”
Rick Carlisle speaks on all things Dallas Mavs and also sounds off on the New York
The New York Knicks (4-19) have fired David Fizdale 22 games into his second season as their head coach. Fizdale was 21-83 during his tenure in New York.
Dallas Mavericks head coach Rick Carlisle wasn’t shy about his thoughts on the situation.
“I’m happy for Fizdale being out of that terrible mess that he had nothing to do with.”
Carlisle went on to talk about the current state of the Mavericks and how they have improved defensively as the season continues.
“Well, I love the team. There is no doubt about that. I love the guys. I love the makeup of the team. I love the way the roster fits together. But, we gotta find some things to focus on to help us get better overall.”
“For instance, we ere ranked as low as twenty-two on defense, you know, coming off that second New York game”, Carlisle continued. “And we made a strong commitment to defense coming off of that. Spent more time with it on practice. Got more detailed with game-planning and prep and really have just talked about the importance of it. So during this 10-game stretch since the second New york game, we’re ranked eighth.”
